There were a few key areas where the Surface Duo did not live up to expectations, although Microsoft’s take on the foldable phones seemed to have a lot of appeal. When the Surface Duo was released in 2020, it was equipped with the exact specifications as the Surface Pro 5 from 2019 during its first year on the market.
Although it had a substantial price-to-performance gap compared to its rivals, the product could not differentiate itself from its competition, which led both critics and enthusiasts to have less interest in it.
